VICSES at the Avalon Australian International Airshow
Over the weekend Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) volunteers played a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees at the 2025 Avalon Australian International Airshow, as well as held a community engagement stall for airshow revellers to participate with. Held from March 25 to 30, this international airshow event attracted over 200,000 visitors, showcasing the latest in aviation and aerospace technology.
Throughout the weekend, dedicated VICSES volunteers were on-site, engaging with the aviation community what the role of SES, and providing support to event crews and ensuring public safety.
Our volunteer’s presence underscored the organisation's commitment to community service during large-scale events.
In addition to their safety roles, VICSES volunteers engaged with the public, promoting flood and storm preparedness, awareness of our role during emergencies, and fostering community relations. We also had our brand new, state-of-the-art, Next Generation Prototype Heavy Rescue Vehicle on display, ready for punters to explore amongst the many aircraft on display.
Volunteers from across VICSES units statewide participated in our activation at the show, in addition to the agency’s operational role during the course of the 6-day event.
The unwavering dedication of VICSES volunteers at the Avalon Airshow exemplifies our vital role in supporting community events and emergency response efforts across Victoria.
