There are a number of roles for volunteers who want to help us run our units as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Regional units are based at the following locations:

  • Bairnsdale

  • Ballarat

  • Benalla

  • Bendigo

  • Geelong

  • Monash

  • Sunshine

 

 

 

Volunteers at our regional units provide valuable support to our other operational units, contributing to the smooth operation of incident management and administration of large-scale events.

Regional unit volunteers have many roles including incident management team support, land search, community engagement , public relations, and  Field Operation Vehicle support.   

These volunteers have, or develop skills in:

  • Using technology and information systems for intelligence gathering.
  • Situational analysis reporting.
  • Incident management team support.

 

We need people who:

  • Are readily available within the area and can respond quickly when required.
  • Have a willingness to learn and contribute to the unit.
  • The availability to participate in regular training sessions.
  • An ability and desire to work cooperatively with others.
  • High level verbal, written and computer literacy or who want to learn these skills.

Advised Fitness Level: 1-2 out of 5

Different levels of physical fitness may be required for members of a support unit, depending on your role.

Roles managing assets and facilities, membership, and finance and administration do not require a specific level of physical fitness. If you provide support to operations in a field role (not in an office), you may be required to meet specific physical fitness requirements for those roles.
